| The table lists all launches by China under the name Yaogan. They have used a range of different launch vehicles and have been launched from both Jiuquan and Taiyuan.
Yaogan seems to be a name to cover satellites having an imaging mission with a government or military purpose. Some seem to carry optical payloads and others carry radar. There are also some launches into orbits very like the US NOSS satellites. They probably have an ocean reconnaissance ELINT or SIGINT payload.
For the satellites in sun-synchronous orbit, looking at the orbit heights and inclinations together with the descending node local time gives an indication of related missions.

Imaging satellite (possibly carrying a synthetic aperture radar) for natural resources surveys and, possibly, intelligence gathering. Specific tasks include land survey, crop yield assessment, and input to disaster monitoring and prevention plans. Broke into eight fragments 2010 Feb 4, around 07:00 UTC as the result of a minor internal explosion probably due to equipment failure. |

Remote sensing satellite described as undertaking land resources surveys and crop yield estimation. However, its purpose may be ocean surveillance similar to the US NOSS triplet formations that orbited at a similar altitude and inclination. The ground track lies 75° to the west of Yaogan 9 (2010-009A/36413) so it surveys a similar area about five hours later. Precise launch time - 04:06:04. |

Mission described the satellite as being "...used to conduct scientific experiments, carry out land surveys, monitor crop yields and aid in preventing and reducing natural disasters". The orbit altitude and Descending Node time are similar to the initial values for Yaogan 6 (2009-021A/34839) suggesting the new satellite may be a replacement for it, or supplementary to it. |

Imaging satellite for natural resources surveys and, possibly, intelligence gathering. Specific tasks include land survey, crop yield assessment, and input to disaster monitoring and prevention plans. The launch vehicle upper stage was not catalogued as it was caused to re-enter, probably over the southern polar region, after releasing the satellite. |

Possibly a radar-carrying reconnaissance satellite. Lost when the launh vehicle third stage malunctioned. Referred to as Yaogan 33 in Chinese press in what may have been a bureaucratic error. Name was subsequently re-used in a later launch. Local time at descending node would have been about 06:00. |

Small satellite, possibly a Cubesat, name and mission details awaited but China's launch announcement seemed to suggests its purpose is related to that of Yaogan 33. After a series of orbit manoeuvres by both satellites, they settled into formation 2021 Jan 14 with Yaogan 33 trailing by about 24 minutes (approx 0.25 Earh circuits). |

Remote sensing satellite described as used for electromagnetic environment surveys and other related technology tests. Orbiting in close formation with the other two satellites from the launch, its purpose may be signals or electronic intelligence gathering over the world's oceans, a similar task to the US NOSS triplet formations that orbited at a similar altitude and inclination. Formation was set up Feb 24 after one month of phasing manoeuvres. |
